Jun 20, 2017 · Thanks for the info! It doesn't. In order to really utilize a graphics card, software needs to be coded to take advantage of hardware acceleration. I'm not aware of any DAW that does. Video programs utilize it (i would assume Final Cut, Sony Vegas, etc), but not DAWs. So a basic card should be more than enough to handle the plugin GUIs.
Obviously its not like you just buy it and it makes your mixes better. But absolutely yes. Using an audio interface will provide you with much better sound quality and definition over a computers built in audio devices. You'll notice increasing clarity the higher end an audio interface is.
